Formed in 1985, the Horvitz Morris Previte Trio featured three of New York's most important contributors to the 1980's New Music, Improvisation and Jazz scenes. All three players were featured using electronics and percussion as well as their respective instruments of piano, cornet and drums. In 1987 the trio released its first album on the Sound Aspects label entitled Nine Below Zero. Later that year it received the prestigious German award, Preis Der Deutchen Schallplatten Kritik. In 1988, the trio released its second album on Sound Aspects entitled Todos Santos. This album featured improvisatory readings of pieces by composer Robin Holcomb. Both recordings are long out of print, but we have a few LPs still remaining, available at the merchandise page.

The trio performed throughout the US, Europe and Canada including New Music America at Philadelphia, Pori Jazz Festival (Finland), Nickelsdorf Festival (Austria), Bremen New Music Week (Germany) and The Western Front (Vancouver BC).
